How Long Is Recovery After an Intimate Aesthetic Procedure?

Recovery depends on the exact treatment. An injection, labiaplasty, vaginal or perineal operation, and male surgical procedure do not share one timeline. Follow the instructions written for your procedure rather than advice from someone who had something different.

What Early Healing May Feel Like

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness, temporary asymmetry, and changes in sensation can occur. Intimate tissues can swell noticeably, so the early appearance is not the final result. Your team may give instructions for cleaning, dressings, medicines, cold packs, positioning, and loose clothing.

Work, Exercise, and Intimacy

Desk work may be possible before strenuous activity, cycling, heavy lifting, or sex. Depending on surgery, intercourse may need to wait several weeks and until incisions are healed and your doctor has cleared you. Returning too early can increase swelling, bleeding, pain, infection, or wound separation.

What Helps Recovery

When to Contact the Clinic

Follow your specific emergency instructions. Seek prompt care for rapidly increasing swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, fever, spreading redness, pus-like drainage, severe or worsening pain, difficulty urinating, skin color change, shortness of breath, or any sudden symptom that concerns you.
