What Are the Female Intimate Aesthetic and Surgical Options?
Female intimate anatomy comes in many normal shapes, sizes, colors, and degrees of symmetry. Treatment should never begin by labeling normal variation as defective. It begins with your reason for asking: comfort, clothing, exercise, changes after childbirth, appearance, or another symptom.

Terms You May Hear
| Procedure | What it generally refers to |
|---|---|
| Labiaplasty | Reshaping or reducing selected labial tissue, commonly the labia minora |
| Labia majoraplasty or augmentation | Reducing excess outer-labial tissue or restoring selected volume |
| Clitoral hood reduction | Reducing selected folds around the clitoral hood; it requires careful sensory anatomy |
| Monsplasty | Reducing or reshaping tissue over the mons pubis |
| Perineoplasty or vaginoplasty | Surgical work involving the perineum or vaginal canal for selected concerns |
These terms do not mean that every procedure is offered or suitable at NDV MED. The exact concern and anatomy determine which—if any—option should be discussed.
What Labiaplasty May Address
Some patients seek labiaplasty for chafing, pulling, discomfort during sports or intimacy, difficulty with clothing, asymmetry, or personal appearance preferences. Incisions and tissue removal must be conservative because the area has important sensory and functional anatomy.
What Surgery Cannot Guarantee
Cosmetic genital surgery cannot guarantee increased desire, orgasm, confidence, or relationship satisfaction. Evidence for some procedures marketed as “rejuvenation” remains limited. Symptoms such as pain, dryness, urinary leakage, pelvic-floor weakness, infection, skin disease, or painful intercourse may need gynecologic, dermatologic, urologic, or pelvic-floor evaluation rather than cosmetic treatment.
Risks to Understand
Possible complications include pain, bleeding, infection, swelling, scarring, wound separation, asymmetry, over- or under-correction, altered sensation, painful intercourse, adhesions, dissatisfaction, and revision surgery.
Your NDV MED team will help you understand what is normal, what may be treatable, and whether surgery offers enough meaningful benefit to justify recovery and risk.
